Reason for investigation: Validation of reported Paranormal Activity. |
| History walls. Known as the B Lift station, it pumped water from the canal behind the house through three large tunnels that run through the building's basement. From there the water was pumped up the hill in front of the house all the way to Ave A. The building was abandoned in the 1940"s and fell into disuse. It was resurrected in the late 1970's into a fabulous restaurant called "The Pumphouse", then a teen disco in the 1980's. The current owner bought it out of a bankruptcy in 1984 and remodeled it into a residence. After living there for 20 years, it was rented out to several tenants and at one point became a boys residential treatment center. All the previous occupants of the house reported noises, sightings, and other paranormal activities. The current owner moved back in March 2009 after going through a huge extensive remodeling. She and her husband are used to the ghosts and their antics. The after effect of the remodeling is a marvel in itself. The "Pump House" is now a beautiful home with an upstairs loft that overlooks the high ceiling of the long and beautifully decorated living room. The basement is just as roomy and lovely as the floor above it with its own living room, bed rooms as well as the "water tunnels" and because of the thick walls, it is well insulated from the outside temperatures, whether it be hot or cold. With the kitchen having all that would be desired in a modern home, it would be just as much a pleasure to cook up an elaborate meal to be served in the dining room as it would be to whip up a sandwich or two. Indeed, a very comfortable place to be. |
| reported activity: Apparitions have been seen in the loft area by witnesses in the upper living room. A child has been seen in the lower living room sitting on the couch. Cold spots have been felt downstairs as well as voices whispered and heard. Stuffed animals were thrown at one of the occupants. Lights would turn on and off by them selves. During the time when the building was a pump house, one of the workers was killed in a freak accident by one of the turbines of the pumps that were mounted in the downstairs basement. The metal water tubes (tunnels) remain today and can be seen in the lower living room as well as one of the bed rooms. |

| DVR and base camp was set up to the right of front door near stairwell. Energy emitting equipment placement: JACOB was set up in the basement's south bedroom, B.E.F.M.E. and XP-3 was set up in basement living room, E.H.F. and R.E.M.D. was set up in basement hallway, FRANKENSTEIN was set up in basement north bedroom. T.Az.P.R.S. IOGEN was set up in main living room, RAPTOR was set up near the front entry door. RAMSEY IOGEN and T.R.N.T. was set up in the loft area. S.B.D. was set up in the kitchen area. Camera setup: DVR IR cams were placed in the loft, downstairs in north bedroom, living room and south bedroom. A camera and tripod was placed in south bedroom tunnel. Investigators, of course, had their own hand held cameras with them. Audio: A stereo recorder was placed in kitchen, E.T. audio recorder was placed in the downstairs south bedroom, T.R.L.D. was placed in downstairs living room, T.L.D. was placed in the loft area, microphone and audio was placed in basement living room and my CAM audio was attached to hand held video camera. Investigators had their personal recorders with them Once 10pm came around, setup was done. Gerald and Angie went to the north bedroom while Eric and Jacquelyn went to the south bedroom. Lori and Julie went to the loft while Frank and Kevin went into the kitchen. I was monitoring the DVR. As I was watching the DVR monitor, i kept thinking i was seeing something in the hallway, near the front door. This happened 2 times and was enough for me to turn and look but as usual nothing was there. At one point, I thought I seen a misty thing on the upstairs DVR cam coming from the window on the left side of room. I went up to the loft to speak to Lori and Julie about it and Lori confirmed that she had seen something too - it was not caught on DVR. Frank, Kevin and I went downstairs to investigate the south bedroom and at one point, I felt a cold breeze on my left arm. A few seconds later, Kevin said he felt the same cold breeze. As we investigated and asked evp questions in the downstairs living room, I felt the same cool breeze as I was sitting in the chair located near the north end of the room. We tried to get the EMF detectors to register something to no avail. We then went into the north bedroom and received no interaction. I did catch one EVP saying "asshole" prior to leaving the bedroom as we admit to doing a little light provoking before we exited the room. Kevin and I went up to the loft area for an EVP session. As we sat asking questions, I observed a dark mass moving several times to the right and left of Kevin. At one point, Kevin's left arm started getting cool and the hairs on his arm stood up. He said he felt like someone was behind him. I took several pictures and there was a couple with a dark undefined mass in them. At about 2:15-2:30 a.m. we tore down and left the residence around 3:00 a.m.. After analyzing audio, DVR, and mini dv, i was able to catch several evps on audio, but nothing on DVR. This beautiful building was a great place to investigate and I thank the owners for allowing us to do so. | Yuma Pump House Report Investigation Date: 10/03/2009 J. Yocum I first helped Lori establish base readings of the house; the house was pretty much at a .1 through out except for the stairs where wehad a big spike. Amy’s Room Eric and I went into Amy’s room first where we had an EVP session; we witnessed a scratching noise at the window with weboth confirmed it was a tree outside. Nothing happened in that room. Eric has all the audio. Tunnel room Eric and I did our second EVP session in the room with the tunnel We heard footsteps above us but figured out we had investigators above us in the kitchen. We heard a few unexplained noises butdon’t know if it was caught on audio. Loft Eric and I than did EVP’s in the loft. That was pretty calm. I did see a small white light on the floor beside me that move around for just a few seconds and than disappeared. Other than a few personal experiences, no other evidence was found. | Gerald Yocum 10-11-2009 Investigation Report Date 10-3-2009 Pump House Yuma AZ I. Introduction A. The Pump house was a very interesting site due to its remarkable history. B. Pump house was built in 1921 and supplied water to homes and farms in the Yuma territory. This pump house though currently a residence, was also a restaurant. C. There have been claims of apparitions seen at this property during its time as a restaurant and residence. D. During construction of the pump house there was a tragic accident with a worker. II. Personal Experiences. A. Tunnel room I paired up with Angie and we investigated the tunnel room. We held an EVP session and found that the room was awfully quiet and still. I didn’t get the sense that anything paranormal was going on in this room. B. Amy’s Room Angie and I investigated this room and during our EVP session we noticed some slight temperature changes. I also felt coldness come over my back and neck. This room was very warm and the air conditioner was not on at that time. I also believe that I was touched on my right cheek. During our investigation as we asked for a sign that there was something there we heard a very faint tapping on the window. Angie and I could not explain what the tapping was and even went outside to try to verify that it wasn’t something brushing against the window. C. Loft and tunnels I did not experience anything unusual in the loft or the tunnels III. Possible Findings A. EVP I recorded a total of 1 possible E.V.P.’s B. Stills I did not find anything. | Saturday October 3rd, 2009 Pump House Investigation Yuma, AZ. On Saturday October 3rd, we entered the "Pump House" in Yuma AZ. Lori and I did our initial walkthrough of the house to get our base readings. There did not seem to be any unusually high readings except where expected near energy sources. There were also two spots that we were getting spikes in the EMF readings. One was in the stairway leading downstairs (around the 5th step) and one was in the kitchen pantry. Jerry and I began our investigation in the downstairs bedroom that had the tunnel entrance. We started at about 11:20pm.. The room was very dark and quiet and the air was completely still and quite warm. At 11:29 we heard a noise that sounded like something being moved. I was also able to pick this up on my audio recorder. At 11:30 I saw what looked like a person walk by the outside of the bedroom window. We confirmed there were no team members outside and that you could not see the cars on the road from that window. This allowed us to rule out the two most likely sources of the shadow, so the source is still unknown. Immediately after I saw the shadow, we heard and recorded another strange noise. At approximately midnight we moved to the second bedroom downstairs. We began hearing a tapping noise on the bedroom window. We looked outside and confirmed there was nothing hitting the window from outside and we also noted there was nothing hitting it from the inside. During a break we went around the back to that window to look closer and again confirmed there was nothing hitting the window or anything near it that could be making a tapping sound, which made us unable to determine the source of the tapping. At 12:10 we also heard and recorded another unknown noise. At 12:20 I asked if there was anyone in the room could they touch my hand. I began getting a temperature reading above my hand after I asked the question. We had already noted temperature base readings in the room, which were at about 78 degrees. As I held the thermometer over my hand, the temperature began to steadily increase and topped out at about 87 degrees. When I would move the thermometer away from my hand the temperature would steadily decrease. To rule out any emissions of body heat we held the thermometer over my other hand and over Jerry’s hand. The readings did not go up or down when we did this. We tried this technique several times while still asking it to touch my hand and continued to get the same results of increased temperature over the hand I asked it to touch. At about 12:30 we moved upstairs to the loft area. At about 12:39 we heard and recorded a noise. Although there was some external noise by other investigators downstairs we both agreed that the noise did come from inside of the loft area. At 12:45, I asked it to let us know if someone was there and again were able to hear and record a noise. This one sounded like a tap on the wall, possibly the ceiling. At 1:00 am while preparing to leave the loft , we were at the top of the stairs and heard a loud noise that sounded like something had hit the floor. We turned our flashlights to that area and noticed a very large screw. It was very clean and did not look like it had ever been in any type of drywall or wood. The location it landed was not near or below anything that would contain a screw. There was also nothing around it that it could have fallen off of such as a table or box. Those were all some distance from where we found it on the floor. The source of where the screw came from was undetermined. At 2:00 am, Jerry and I entered the tunnel downstairs. Immediately upon entry, we heard and recorded a mans voice. The rest of the team was outside so we do not believe it to be from any of the team members. At 1:10, 1:11 and 1:12, I saw a small round light that floated from one side of the tunnel to the other. Since the tunnel was very dark and Jerry and I were the only ones in there it was easy to determine the light source did not come from either of us. We were not able to determine the source of this light. Throughout the night, Jerry and I had several personal experiences ranging from noises, voices, lights, temperature changes, and moving objects. This along with my evidence obtained from my equipment leads me to believe that this house does have some paranormal activity. Because a lot of the experiences happened after we had asked a question or for some verification of their presence, I also believe that it is of an intelligent nature. | PUMP HOUSE INVESTIGATION BY: Kevin Hauschild LOCATION: Yuma, AZ DATE: 10/03/2009 CAMERA: Kodak M340 RECORDER: Olympus MS-500M Summary: My first location was with Frank in the Kitchen, several digital photos were taken of the kitchen. Once completed Frank and I moved to the main living room area, where more digital photos were taken. While looking through my photos taken in the kitchen area I spotted what appeared to be a face in the microwave’s window. My digital audio recorder was placed on a plastic tote in Julie’s old bedroom. During that time my audio recorder was not picked up, moved or touched by Frank, Randy or myself. My recorder was left turned on and placed on the tote during the EVP session that was conducted in the sitting area where the tunnels were located. While in Julie’s old bedroom, the only thing I experienced was a breeze approximately 3 ½ feet of the ground. The breeze was felt and noted by Randy and within a few seconds I felt the same breeze. Once the recorder was moved to Amy’s room, my digital recorder was place on the carpet behind me away. This was done to avoid being bumped or knocked around. While investigating with Randy in the loft area, several shadows were seen as well as a light. I did experience a cold chill to my left forearm and I felt as if someone was moving behind me. | There were a lot of EVP recorded! The energy that we have provided the "Pump House" from our energy emitting devices have been proven effective once again. There were personal experiences of many types being had as well. Cold spots were felt in warm rooms while the air conditioner was in the "off" position. Shadows were being seen, an object fell from the ceiling along with the many EVP that was recorded. Most EVP were intelligent responses to our questions, some were our names being called, some EVP was them telling us their names and some EVP were just some random words put together, telling us something that we should understand. We did record two sets of disembodied voices communicating with one another at different times, two males and two females. That in itself merits attention from people in the paranormal field. Perhaps, one day, we will understand what it is they want us to know. Perhaps it just isn't meant to be at this time. Perhaps, many years ago, we may have discovered the correct equipment, combinations and levels of the types of energies that the spirits can gain from to help them communicate with us. Perhaps, the answers are indeed.....just around the corner. With all of the evidence obtained during this investigation, it has indicated to us that there is validation of the reported paranormal activity at this beautiful home. We would gladly love another opportunity to investigate and visit "The Yuma Pump House".
